The Lead Engineer – Steampath will work closely with internal partners, interfacing with other teams such as structures, rotor, thermodynamics, rotodynamic teams, manufacturing, and the people on site, playing a central role in the timely and successful execution of projects worldwide. Primary task is to design project specific steampath components (buckets and nozzles) and perform rotor calculations for combined cycle steam turbines.
Activities contribute to the design and development of products, solutions and overall steam turbine system design for combined cycle projects.

- Own Steampath bucket/blade/nozzle component design and rotor calculation in execution of OTR activities for new units
- Drive technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component and material / life vantage points
- Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers.
- Lead and review appropriate engineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all required CTQs
- Support RTS and NPI activities as required
- Design for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in support of manufacturing and field activities, i.e. lifting and transportation
- Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep
- Finite Element Analysis and / or CFD capability
- This role requires significant experience in Engineering, Technology, and Systems Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
- 4+ years of engineering experience in Steam Turbine design and/or operability and a familiarity with Steam Turbine component design/operability design process, tools, and procedures.
- Proficiency in English.
- Master’s degree in engineering discipline or Edison Engineering program completion
- Basic technical understating of Steam Turbine, Gas Turbine or other turbomachinery products
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, & collaboration skills
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally with multiple engineering teams
- Strong analytical skills working independently and in a team environment
- Experience in Steam Turbine rotating component design, including ST rotating and stationary bucket/blade designs, design process & procedures
- Familiarity with the full manufacturing process including: forgings, machining, and factory assembly/ testing practices, specifically as applied to power generation equipment
- Second Language preferred, such as German, French, English, or Polish
