- Be a contributing member to an Agile team focused on delivering valuable reporting solutions to Teck mining sites
- Enhance, improve, and optimize existing Power BI reports and datasets
- Develop technical specifications based on business requirements
- Participate in project planning sessions with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and team members to outline and refine solutions
- Have an eye for design and be able to produce beautifully designed reports attending to design details (e.g., alignment, font selection, color selection, readability, data design principles)
- Perform data validation to ensure data correctness
- Design and develop using best practices for data management and visualization
- Make effective use of source and version control (GitHub)
- Continuously learn to keep your skillset sharp in a rapidly evolving technical area
- 2+ years of experience in building various BI solutions such as dashboards, reports, paginated reports, KPIs, scorecard and data models in Microsoft Power BI environment
- Ability to construct complex SQL queries to collect and shape data from relational databases, including performance troubleshooting
- Advanced DAX skills. Able to construct complex DAX formula for creating measures, calculated columns, and tables in an efficient and performant way
- Advanced Power Query skills to transform data
- Experience in Power BI data modeling by following industry best practices. Knowledge of Star Schema and Dimensional modeling.
- Ability to interpret requirements and design reports/dashboards with advanced visualizations in an intuitive and clean manner
- Knowledge of Power BI ecosystem including reporting constraints with Power BI service, licensing options, Data Gateways, Workspaces, Apps, Dataflows
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate and Azure is an asset
- Ability to comprehend business drivers and challenges faced by clients
- Effective verbal communication skills including the ability to explain technical concepts to clients
- Effective team player with strong result orientation
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent
- Mining Industry experience is an asset
