Agency Oversight & Performance ManagementServe as the main liaison between the company and the appointed general agent in Mexico.Monitor and evaluate agent performance in both commercial (sales, customer service) and operational (vessel handling, documentation) areas.Ensure KPIs compliance, and initiate improvement action when needed.2.
Commercial DevelopmentSupport the execution of business development strategies in Mexico & LATAM countries.Provide regular market insights, cargo trend reports, and competitor intelligence.Participate in key client meetings, trade events, and develop local customer relationships.Coordinate with HQ trade and pricing team to align local actions with global strategy.3.
Operational SupervisionAssist in ensuring smooth port operations, terminal coordination, and local vendor support.Follow up on port call performance, cargo flow, documentation, and dispute resolutions.Coordinate with the agent and HQ operation team for contingency handling and port rotation changes.4.
Local Intelligence & Strategic FeedbackProvide feedback to HQ on regulatory, geopolitical, and economic updates affecting trade or operational risks.Recommend adjustments in commercial or operational strategy to better penetrate the Mexican and LATAM West Coast markets.5.
Representation & ComplianceRepresent the company in meetings with port authorities, customs, and relevant regulatory bodies when required.Ensure compliance with local laws, anti-corruption standards, and internal company policies.Qualifications ;Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, International Trade, or related field.Prior experience working for a shipping carrier, NVOCC, freight forwarder, or port operator in LATAM.Experience in setting up or expanding new markets or trade services.Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
Minimum 5 years of experience in the shipping or logistics industry, preferably with a focus on Latin America.Strong understanding of container liner operations, agency management, and trade lane development.Demonstrated experience working with or managing general agents or third-party service providers.Knowledge of Mexico's port landscape and regulatory environment (e.g., Manzanillo, Lazaro Cardenas).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across cultures and time zones.Able to work base at Mexico
