  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong focus on Typescript, Node ( Express ), and Kong Gateway for building APIs and microservices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with experience leading projects and mentoring team members – works well with others.
  • Strong experience with OpenAPI standards, Swagger, and Postman or similar for designing, documenting, and testing APIs.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful principles and HTTP methods.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS serverless capabilities including Lambda, Aurora, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, etc. are required).
  • Experience with authentication standards like OIDC / OAuth2 / FAPI 1.0, and authorization approaches like OPA / OSO / OpenFGA / etc.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with code generation (plop).
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience in agile development methodologies and tools for version control (i.e., Git, Bitbucket), continuous integration, and deployment.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions).
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Understanding of modern front-end development practices.
  • A passion for building high-quality, user-friendly software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle challenges and provide innovative solutions.

Job responsibilitiesYour role is to help solve API needs for an enterprise client where you will work as part of a team to help them build APIs for consumer finance apps. The client is using AWS lambda and other AWS supporting technologies, a Kong gateway, and developing API services in Typescript to run on Node, so experience in one or more of these technologies is required.
