Job Description:GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job)Administers, develops and implements HS&E programs, policies and procedures to assure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, and to promote a safe and environmentally responsible facility by performing the following collaboratively with othersESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES (Duties required for successful job performance)Cultivates a culture of safety among associates by promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.Conduct safety training as part of the new hire onboarding and coordinates with department leaders to schedule new/refresher training programs for all employees as appropriate and in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations.Updates employee training schedules and training materials to ensure they represent the most current training needs and maintains all employee training files.Interfaces with all departments to ensure employees understand their specific roles and responsibilities pertaining to HS&E matters.Develops and actively markets programs designed to meet the needs of a safe workplace, including preparing and arranging safety exhibits and materials for display to promote workplace safety.Implements and monitors general HS&E policies and procedures and conducts training in compliance with local, state and federal OSHA rules and regulations.Consult and train Supervisors/Team Leaders in accident/injury investigation process and assure appropriate investigation, reports and analysis of incidents, accidents and hazards pertaining to the facility are conducted in line with Corporate policy and legislative requirements. Reviews all accidents, occupational illnesses and near miss investigations.Actively audits the facility to identify hazards and non-compliances and ensures the appropriate actions and resolutions are implemented.Conducts routine occupational hygiene investigations and assures that all employees are aware of the hazards posed by exposure to decomposition products and hazardous materials. Conducts audits of safe work practices and conditions.Responsible for coordinating and maintaining all HS&E records for corporate, local, state and federal requirements and compiles and submits information required by regulatory agencies.Maintains and updates the emergency evacuation plan and safety information centers.Performs workers compensation claim management including the return to work program and prepares materials and evidence for related legal and insurance cases.Facilitates meetings for the Ergonomic and Safety Teams and assures they are accomplishing facility goals and objectives.Ensures appropriate investigations, reports and analysis of environmental incidents, accidents and hazards pertaining to the facility are conducted in line with the Cooper requirements and legislative requirements.Oversees handling, labeling and shipping of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Performs inspections of waste storage areas and other areas of concern. Assists with developing and implementing waste handling procedures, as well as waste minimization and recycling programs.Drive Safety Culture and Initiatives to achieve annual TIR goal.Participate and comply with the plant's 6's audit program.Actively participate in the Kaizen Blitz program.Contribute projects and ideas to manage savings according to the goal assigned to the HS&E department.Not being deliberately involved in safety or quality incidents due to omissions or bad practices.Participate actively in continuous improvement tasks according to established plans.Participate in simulated emergency drills as part of the evacuation brigade and lead staff personnel.Not limited to other functions assigned by immediate supervisor.All the responsibilities and follow the authority assigned according to the FTM-EHS-12 Roles, Responsibility and Authority Matrix from ISO 14001 /45001Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as IATF 16949.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE (Required occupational qualifications and other requirements)Bachelor’s degree in occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or a similar required or three (3) years HSE Experience in manufacturing environment2-3 years automotive manufacturing experience preferredKnowledge of State and Federal regulations related to Health, Safety & EnvironmentalISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Internal Auditor certification is a requirement of the Job and will be sponsored by CS as part of the onboarding process, if a candidate does not have certification.First Aid, CPR, AED certification is a requirement of the Job and will be sponsored by CS as part of the onboarding process, if a candidate does not have certification.Good verbal and written communication skillsFamiliar with Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work with a diverse group of peopleGood Team PlayerREQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES (Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job)Pro-active.Ability to work as a team member.Strong leadership skills.Position Type: RegularAdditional Locations:Additional Information:Remote Status: On-site
