- Design, specify, test, validate and release Propulsion Systems components for assigned vehicle families; analyze and solve part-related failures; propose, validate, and obtain cost reductions on these parts.
- Process documentation on changes or modifications to components from assigned vehicle families (Change Notices).
- Review component changes (specifications, production location, tooling refurbishment, TIER 2 suppliers, etc.) from suppliers, process documentation and authorize required testing (DVP&R) on these changes (Forever Requirements).
- Create and evaluate requests for component functional testing in assembly plants before implementation into normal production. (Production Evaluation Request).
- Support Service Team developing Technical Service Bulletin, Tech Master Video, GPOP, Star Online Publication and Service Procedure Updates according to service improvements for their components.
- Usage of hardware and software tools to create and modify designs according to assigned commodity. Attend training and development plan to acquire required abilities and knowledge to comply with individual and team goals.
- Create and update DFMEA documents.
- Request prototype part manufacturing to solve warranty issues.
- Create cost reduction proposals.
- Creation and approval of Tool Kick Off (TKO) request for parts on assigned vehicle families.
- Verify product manufacturing process before mass production release.
- Coordinate DFMEAs and PFMEAs with suppliers.
- Support Pilot and Pre-series events in Assembly Plants.
- Design parts in NX Software (2D & 3D).
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electro-mechanical, etc.).
- 4 years or more in automotive industry as Product Engineer or product development-related position.
- Solid knowledge in automotive vehicles and systems, assembly and manufacturing, part validation and automotive systems.
- Knowledge in Internal Combustion Engines, thermodynamics, and statistics; testing, validation and failure solving in Automotive Industry or similar.
- Good skills to communicate and present ideas, as well as experience in basic software suits (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Minitab, etc.)
- Computer-design software skill in NX and/or CATIA.
- Proactive, analytical, team player.
- Disciplined and planning capacity.
- Internal Combustion Engine/Electric Motor/Power Electronics accessories’ components/structural components such as brackets.
