- Lead the agile tax compliance process for all legal entities in Mexico, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment of tax obligations (ISR, VAT, SIPRED, ISSIF, IMMEX, informative returns).
- Responsible for the accurate preparation and forecasting of current and deferred taxes for IFRS reporting, capital planning, stress testing, and profit sharing.
- Ensure reconciliation and substantiation of tax accounts and respond to regulator tax requirements.
- Oversee tax reporting for external audits, including Current and Deferred Taxes, and Effective Tax Rate (ETR).
- Design, establish, and maintain a strong governance framework and SOX-compliant controls across all tax processes, ensuring interdepartmental coordination.
- Identify Uncertain Tax Positions (UTPs) and potential exposures, aligning tax risk appetite with business strategies.
- Implement proactive measures to mitigate tax risks and avoid operational losses.
- Drive efficiency and automation in tax compliance processes by developing tactical and strategic solutions.
- Encourage innovation and creative thinking to resolve complex tax matters effectively.
- Promote continuous improvement and standardization of tax-related workflows.
- Provide expert tax advisory on daily operations across functions.
- Support the Head of Tax on strategic projects such as Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), corporate restructuring, and entity rationalization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics (required)
- Master’s Degree in Taxes, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in Tax Compliance and Reporting, ideally in multinational companies.
- Previous experience in the financial sector is highly desirable.
- Experience at a Big Four firm (preferred).
- Solid technical knowledge in both local and international tax advisory, compliance, and IFRS tax accounting.
- Leadership: Proven ability to inspire and manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication in English and Spanish (fluent or advanced level).
- Decision-Making: Capacity to take initiative and make informed decisions under pressure.
