- Analyze market trends, competitor pricing strategies, and customer demands to develop competitive pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to determine pricing models that balance profitability and market competitiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other service providers to ensure favorable terms and pricing.
- Continuously evaluate vendor performance and negotiate improvements or adjustments as needed.
- Oversee the procurement process for customs clearance, warehousing, transportation, and other logistics services.
- Identify reliable suppliers, conduct vendor assessments, and establish long-term partnerships to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage relationships with suppliers to optimize inventory management and reduce lead times.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives, such as consolidating shipments, optimizing routes, and streamlining procurement processes.
- Analyze expenses, identify areas of inefficiency, and develop strategies to reduce costs without compromising quality or service levels.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with pricing fluctuations, supplier reliability, and market uncertainties.
- Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize disruptions to operations.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure pricing effectiveness, procurement efficiency, and vendor performance.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting performance metrics, cost savings, and opportunities for improvement.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry standards related to pricing, procurement, customs clearance, and transportation.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, import/export regulations, and internal policies in all procurement and pricing activities.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CIPS) are a plus.
- Proven experience in pricing management, procurement, or supply chain roles within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in using pricing software, procurement systems, and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex pricing strategies and procurement plans to diverse audiences.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, international trade policies, and freight forwarding processes is highly desirable.
