The Project Manager's objective encompasses five main areas of accountability.
Safety Leadership, Quality Leadership, Technical Delivery (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Startup), Cost & Schedule, and Client/Stake Holder Management throughout the delivery lifecycle of Projects in Mexico.
Main Responsibilities
Deliver safe, efficient, timely and cost-effective project delivery of the Business Capital Portfolio in a way that delivers advantaged assets.
Serve as the focal point and knowledgeable spokesperson on project delivery engagements working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and operations while maintaining the primary interface with EPC Contractor.
Ensure that contract construction firm(s) and managers employ world class safety methods while meeting the cost and schedule commitments of the project.
Build a project team of internal and external resources that delivers safe, effective and capital efficient design and procurement throughout the project.
Implement world-class cost, schedule and forecasting tools to ensure project delivery on-time and within budget.
Stakeholder and interface management for overall project.
Deliver regular communication to functional and business stakeholders with content tailored to the audiences' technical skill and interest in detail.
Primary interface for operations and corporate reporting
Has fully accountability of the safety, cost, schedule, communication, scope, risk, quality, and delivery of the project through the team.
Utilize and develop a safety and quality culture, leading by example.
Manages interfaces and effective communication with mining operations, projects, finance, procurement, legal, vendors and contractors in Mexico.
Experience and Knowledge requiered
Degree in Engineering
MBA is desirable but not necessary.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable
15+ years direct mining experience in capital projects execution in Mexico/USA and related industryLeadership of multiple capital project >$50MEmployment within the mining industry
English advanced
