And so much more.Come break through with us.Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.Role PurposeProvide manufacturing systems support, IMS hardware support and technical assistance to Corning IT as requested. Provide backup support for the Site Leader as requested.Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical support, providing support to manufacturing and the daily operations.
- Backup IT Site Leader as needed.
- Work with: IT service delivery, project management, and functional/business resources to IT Support and Services on time.
- Participate in IMS Projects as needed.
- IMS Infrastructure Support, including computers, printers, switches, servers and security.
- Interface with Corning IT to resolve issues.
- Communicate Infrastructure needs and issues to Site Leader.
- Represents bridge between technology and business needs.
- Resolves problems with new and existing equipment.
- Bring IT Support to end user requests and projects.
- Team work to different resources to solve problems.
- Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories and concepts.
- Follows specific, detailed instructions.
- May be assigned to small projects.
- Contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks.
- May or may not have frequent external customer contacts or suppliers.
- Technical degree in an IT related field or combination of IT education and work experience.
- Some experience in an IT department in a manufacturing environment.
- IT Infrastructure supports experience.
- Can deal comfortably with supervisors and managers as well as the hourly workforce.
- Gains trust quickly of other parties to IT Support.
- Has a good sense of timing.
- Fosters a feeling of belonging in the team.
- Good skill at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done.
- Able to write clearly in a variety of communication settings and styles.
