The Opportunity
We are seeking a
Strategic Procurement Specialist
to join the sourcing and procurement team.
In this role, you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of quality goods and services.
You will play a critical part in achieving cost-savings initiatives while supporting projects across Erie and Houston operations.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase direct and indirect from approved suppliers.
Evaluate RFQs, negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
Select suppliers, place purchase orders, and ensure compliance with operating procedures and ethical standards.
Expedite orders by coordinating with vendors and logistics teams.
Track, evaluate, and improve supplier performance, including quality and on-time delivery.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to annual cost-reduction targets.
Support the development of sourcing strategies and supplier qualification.
Manage procurement activities for up to $5M in purchased components annually.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Engineering, Operations, or equivalent experience (7+ years).
Minimum 5 years of professional procurement or materials management experience.
Strong understanding of supply chain management, sourcing strategies, and supplier quality systems.
Knowledge of electronics, raw materials, machining, and manufacturing processes.
Proven negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office; experience with Ariba, Deltek, Timberline, or Teamcenter is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel up to 15%.
