The Health, Safety, and Environment Specialist is responsible for developing and/or improving BRP Mexico's Safety, Health, and Environment Management System, as well as maintaining compliance with relevant Mexican legislation. He/she is the promoter of compliance with BRP's Corporate Safety, Health, and Environment Policy.Section II: Experience and Education
- Professional Engineering degree in the Chemical-Biological and/or Environmental field
- 7+ years of experience in EHS.
- Experience implementing and managing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Master's degree in Safety, Health, and Environment preferred
- Experience with NAI (New Asset Introduction)
- Expertise in Mexican legislation regarding Environmental Protection, Health, and Industrial Safety
- Verifiable knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environment Audits
- Hazardous Materials Management
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
- Google Tools (Drive, website, dashboards, etc.)
- ENABLON Management
- Preventive Risk Identification and Mitigation Programs
- Environmental and Safety Management Systems (ISO 140001, 45001, etc.)

- Ensure compliance with all plant health, environmental, and safety programs.
- Ensures that the internal management and activities of the company's various waste management processes (RP, RME, RPBI, Water Discharge, etc.) comply with the criteria established by the various laws and regulations of the applicable government agencies (JMAS, PROFEPA, SDUE, CIVIL PROTECTION, etc.).
- Ensures that chemical materials are stored in appropriate containers, are identified, and that their Safety Data Sheets are maintained.
- Supervises and supports project leaders to ensure that projects are carried out safely, complementing each plant.
- Verifies compliance with and adherence to the EHS programs implemented in the company.
- Collects, documents, and keeps available relevant information from the different areas of the department: risk management, waste management (air, soil, water, etc.), audits, corporate reports, etc.
- Responsible for the safety and hygiene of the projects department.
- Ensures the implementation of preventive safety programs, monitors results, and prepares informative reports.
- Participate in and ensure the completion of corrective actions resulting from work risk assessment audits, HHS audits, etc.
- Attend visits and follow up on and complete any administrative actions.
- Conduct and coordinate internal EHS audits as required.
- Evaluate the entry of chemical materials into BRP Mexico, reviewing the existence of Material Safety Data Sheets, and maintain control over them.
- Provide technical leadership and functional guidance to staff to ensure compliance with applicable safety, health, and environmental criteria.
- Participate in and ensure that the safety risk analysis and assessment program is carried out according to established procedures, promoting risk prevention.
- Monitor, oversee, and ensure the validity of various environmental and operational permits and licenses for contractors.
- Follow up on the annual EHS training program, ensuring its timely and proper completion.
- Perform activities assigned by management to support project operations.
- Identify and report any quality and compliance issues and support corrective actions.
- Ensures that investigations of work-related injuries are carried out according to procedures, demonstrating leadership in enforcing the resulting actions.
- Comply with safety rules determined according to their role.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements applicable to the workplace.
- Manage the allocated budget according to their area and assigned responsibilities.
- Is responsible for following up on safety and environmental training for the project team.
- Issues permits related to high-risk work in the assigned project area (LOTO, work at heights, etc.).
- Reviews contractor documentation and keeps it up-to-date in accordance with established standards.
- Participates in compliance with the QMS (Quality Management System) determined for their role in relation to ISO 9001:2015.
- Comply with safety rules determined according to their role.
- Complete planned Quality and Training-related training on time.
- Identify and report any quality and compliance issues and support appropriate actions.
