- Define a tax optimization plan for all regions of the organization, ensuring compliance with local laws.
- Set the tax planning agenda considering the multinational environments where Nemak operates.
- Identify and minimize tax-related risks concerning Transfer Pricing, M&A, and other statutory areas (Stock Exchange, Board, etc.).
- Ensure alignment between the organization's reported earnings and its tax commitments.
- Manage all tax-related matters, acting as a key consultant to regions and representing the organization in dealings with external auditors and compliance agencies.
- Facilitate the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned to ensure standardization of practices.
- Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements for global operations in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and relevant local accounting standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across all international subsidiaries, including managing multi-currency transactions and consolidation processes.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting standards in all jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Coordinate the preparation and filing of tax returns, VAT/GST, and other local regulatory filings in multiple countries.
- Lead and manage the global accounting team, including overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and intercompany accounting functions across all regions.
- Ensure consistency in accounting policies and procedures across the global organization, harmonizing processes where necessary.
- Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close procedures for all global entities.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors for global audits, ensuring that all regional entities comply with audit requirements and deadlines.
- Develop and implement global internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure the integrity of financial reporting, and manage financial risks across jurisdictions.
- Regularly assess and improve internal control frameworks to meet evolving regulatory and operational needs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate global accounting processes, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
- Lead or participate in initiatives to implement or upgrade global accounting systems and technologies (e.g., ERP systems, automation tools).
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows, ensuring scalability and adaptability as the business expands globally.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related careers.
- Master's degree in accounting, Business, or equivalent (Required)
- 15+ years of experience in Business Administration and Accounting (Required)
- 8+ years of experience in similar positions and Manufacturing
- 10+ years of experience in Taxation (Required)
- 5+ years of experience in the Automotive Industry (Desired)
- Technical skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SAP
