Position Summary
Reporting to the General Manager, the
Senior Buyer
will be responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, electrical and mechanical components, and services required for the manufacturing of residential elevators and related products.
This role involves negotiating contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining quality and delivery standards.
The Senior Buyer will collaborate closely with production planning, engineering, and logistics to align purchasing activities with production requirements.
Responsibilities
Source and purchase materials, components, and services to support production needs.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers to achieve cost, quality, and service objectives.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, implementing improvement plans where necessary.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure technical specifications are met.
Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP/MRP systems.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and planning to avoid shortages or overstock.
Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and supply chain optimization.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
Mindset, Skills & Education
Energetic, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of purchasing experience in the metal mecanic, electrical, or related manufacturing industry.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Intermediate conversational English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international suppliers.
Knowledge of international purchasing and import processes is considered an asset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong cross-functional and supplier relationships.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Full-time, on-site position at the manufacturing plant.
Regular interaction with suppliers, production planning, engineering, and logistics teams.
