
Electrical & Instrument Technician II (E/I Tech II)

- Plan job-site work sequences, conducts pre-job hazard assessments/briefs, coordinates outages, procures materials, completes work, returns systems to service, and documents tasks in CMMS
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based auxiliary systems; designs, implements, and configures control schemes, modules, firmware, and software; monitors performance and recommends improvements
- Update wiring diagrams, schematics, system logs, and technical drawings; provides training and functional supervision to staff while meeting E&I Tech II standards and other assigned duties
- Associate's degree in Automation & Instrumentation (A&I) or Electronics Engineering Technology (EET); in lieu of a degree a total of 4 years of direct industrial automation and controls experience
- Holds or is pursuing a valid Class A Journeyman or equivalent license; strong grasp of AC theory, single/three-phase systems, and watt-hour metering, with practical application in power distribution and motor control optimization
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in troubleshooting, calibration, fiber optic splicing, instrumentation, and utility system maintenance
- Knowledge with OSHA standards, safety codes, and electrical regulations
- Proficiency in PLC programming, configuring control systems, reading schematics, and understanding Ethernet/network protocols and architectures
- You must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record
- You must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- This role requires daily attendance at worksite
- Must be physically capable to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of equipment and portable radio communication
- Capable of frequently standing; walking; balancing; sitting; climbing (ladders, stairs, ramps, catwalks and the like as required); kneeling; pushing; pulling; lifting (min. 50 lbs)
- Capable of performing repetitive motions as required
- Required to have eyesight corrected at 20/40 to accurately read and interpret such as but not limited to instruments, gauges, and manuals
- Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses
- The position consists of 85% work indoors and 15% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions
