Company DescriptionNestled along the coastal paradise of the Riviera Maya on a pristine oceanfront site notable for its lush, expansive mangrove gardens and deep white-sand beach, an extraordinary resort is taking shape: Etéreo, a new Opening in late 2021, the Auberge Resorts Collection destination will bring a compelling luxury experience where guests can escape in perfect comfort and seclusion and enjoy a deep connection with nature and with each other.Job DescriptionThis position involves the sales of weddings and social celebrations at Etéreo focused on Riviera Maya event planners. The position will also act as a site expert and liaison for potential group opportunities from the remote-based sales team. The role is responsible for pro-active direct sales, appointments, site inspections and familiarization experiences. The ideal candidate is someone who is able to form relationships quickly and is able to convey that Etereo is the preferred location for events in Riviera Maya. The role works as a liaison between clients and the resort to create unique and memorable experiences for our guests. Travel may be required to represent the resort at various trade shows and exhibits.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Clear understanding of the resort's business strategies, goal setting and ability to determine actions necessary to drive results.
  • Identify new relationships and business opportunities to increase sales from a targeted market.
  • Demonstrate professional and confident communication skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  • Implement all sales action plans related to my market areas as outlined in the business plan.
  • Execute and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g. generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
  • Solicit new, and builds on existing, catered contracted business to exceed revenue goals.
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
  • Participate in sales calls with members of the sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
  • Able to support the resort's service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
  • Work closely with the Area Directors of Sales and Revenue to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotels.
  • Develop strong relationships with the on-property team to ensure working in unity and always striving to achieve the same goals.
  • Attend all department and hotel meetings as necessary..
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
  • Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities.
  • Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, specifically local event planners.
  • Closely following up on all business leads within a 24-hour response timeline to clients.
  • Plans and executes site visits, stays, FAM trips and experiences for all Group sales visits.
  • Acts and the destination expert and liaison for the remoted-based Area Sales team.
  • Partners with and provides on-property sales support for the remote-based Area and Global Sales teams.
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate (required)
  • College Education (preferred)
  • Proven success in a similar role, prefer 2+ years of Event/Wedding experience in a luxury market.
  • Experience in hotels/resorts or event planning is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish in all areas of communication.
  • Preference for a candidate with local, Riviera Maya sales or planning experience.
  • Computer literate in relevant computer applications including Google Suite, and Delphi
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
