- Lead the strategic planning and execution of new facility launches, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and business objectives
- Develop and maintain launch roadmaps, aligning technical solutions with warehouse operational goals and long-term scalability
- Oversee site commissioning, ramp-up planning, and performance validation to ensure all systems are fully operational before go-live
- Implement structured phase-gate reviews to ensure seamless transition from commissioning to steady-state operations
- Conduct DFMEA, PFMEA, and root cause analysis to proactively mitigate risks before and after launch.
- Manage facility startup activities, including operator training, SOP documentation, and initial performance monitoring
- Conduct post-launch assessments, capturing key learnings to improve future site expansions and automation deployments
- Own the tactical planning and execution of complex cross-functional projects, focusing on launch execution, automation deployment, and engineering improvements
- Develop and implement standardized processes, KPIs, and continuous improvement frameworks to enhance efficiency and scalability
- Drive cost, scope, and performance management for projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and operational needs
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans, ensuring Launch, Automation, and Engineering projects meet reliability standards and uptime expectations
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive process efficiency, defect reduction, and workflow standardization across new facilities
- Lead the engineering and design of high-performance fulfillment center layouts, optimizing material flow, storage solutions, and workflow efficiency
- Ensure compliance with warehouse layout, best practices, regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and building codes
- Collaborate with facility engineering and operations teams to design scalable warehouse infrastructure, optimizing throughput and cost efficiency
- Translate complex engineering concepts into cost-effective, scalable, and future-proof warehouse solutions
- Partner with Operations, Facilities, and IT teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing storage density, labor utilization, and overall warehouse productivity
- Develop and implement scalable launch frameworks and playbooks to ensure repeatable success across multiple fulfillment centers
- Establish and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Training Programs for operational consistency
- Utilize data analytics, predictive modeling, and industrial engineering principles to optimize process flows, reduce cycle times, and enhance labor productivity
- Champion a Kaizen mindset, continuously identifying areas for improvement and ensuring alignment with business goals and customer SLAs
- Drive structured problem-solving methodologies, using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Pareto Analysis to eliminate inefficiencies
- Act as the primary technical lead and mentor, overseeing engineering teams, automation specialists, and cross-functional project groups
- Collaborate with Operations, IT, Procurement, Safety, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless facility startups and alignment on business objectives
- Lead cross-functional project coordination, including kickoff meetings, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), go-live readiness, and post-launch performance optimization
- Partner with automation integrators, third-party vendors, and material handling suppliers to ensure seamless technology implementation
- Develop executive-level reports and presentations, communicating data-driven insights on launch performance, process optimization, and cost savings
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuously researching and implementing emerging automation technologies, AI-driven systems, and warehouse digitization tools
- Define and execute end-to-end automation strategies, ensuring they align with warehouse layout, throughput goals, and labor efficiency targets
- Oversee the design, integration, and deployment of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), robotic picking systems, automated sortation, and conveyor solutions
- Ensure seamless IT-OT convergence, integrating Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) with automation platforms
- Lead automation validation trials and proof-of-concept deployments, ensuring solutions deliver measurable efficiency improvements before full-scale rollout
- Collaborate with procurement and automation vendors, negotiating cost-effective, high-ROI technology investments for warehouse automation
- Monitor automation system performance through real-time data analytics, telemetry, and predictive maintenance algorithms to ensure maximum uptime and reliability
- Develop and implement engineering solutions with safety-first principles, ensuring compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and regulatory safety standards
- Lead hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and ergonomic studies to enhance warehouse safety and employee well-being
- Establish preventive maintenance programs and reliability engineering strategies for automation systems to minimize downtime and optimize asset utilization
- Conduct compliance audits and safety training sessions to ensure all warehouse employees and engineers adhere to industry regulations and best practices
- Maintain a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, incorporating eco-friendly practices into facility design and automation choices
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics or related field)
- 7+ years of experience in warehouse launches, automation deployment, and logistics engineering
- Understanding in automation, material handling systems, AMRs, and WMS/WCS/WES integration
- Experience in Greenfield/Brownfield facility launches, including workflow design, automation integration, and performance validation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, understanding of simulation tools, warehouse management systems, and ERP systems
- Proven leadership and cross-functional team management experience
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in data-driven decision-making
- Ability to travel, as needed
- PMP Certification or equivalent project management experience
- Experience in e-commerce, fulfillment, or 3PL logistics industries
- Hands-on experience working with automation integrators and third-party vendors
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement
