About the team Join Zillow as a Senior ServiceNow Developer and become a pivotal part of our mission to build innovative productivity solutions for our employees. In this role, you'll leverage your deep expertise in the ServiceNow platform to design, develop, and implement robust and scalable solutions. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and senior leaders to understand business needs and translate them into effective ServiceNow applications.
As a key member of the Enterprise Applications Engineering team, you will be responsible for the performance, quality, and responsiveness of our ServiceNow applications. This includes establishing design principles, architectural standards, and best practices within the ServiceNow ecosystem, while upholding high standards for cloud security and data privacy. You'll work with cross-functional teams to enhance employee productivity and effectiveness by delivering elegant and efficient ServiceNow solutions. Your contributions will be critical in driving the evolution of our internal tools and supporting the overall success of Zillow.About the roleLead the design, development, and implementation of complex ServiceNow applications and modules, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.Serve as a subject-matter expert for the ServiceNow platform, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members.Design and implement robust integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs.Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Contribute to the continuous improvement of our ServiceNow development processes, including advocating for and implementing DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies.Monitor and analyze ServiceNow performance, utilizing ServiceNow Performance Analytics and Reporting to identify trends and optimize system efficiency.Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, providing technical insights and estimates, and ensuring timely delivery of features.Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and architectural guidelines.Stay current with the latest ServiceNow features, releases, and industry trends.Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and propel ongoing improvement initiatives, guaranteeing Zillow maintains a top-tier technology infrastructureConstructively negotiate trade-off discussions with other senior leaders, articulating pros and cons while providing options and recommendations that align with Zillow's goals and valuesStrong commitment to operational excellence, constantly striving to uncover the underlying causes of problems, using data to guide your decision-making, and fostering a culture of ongoing improvementEstablish strong connections with key individuals in the Product, People, Technology and Engineering organizations, serving as a reliable consultant who can provide guidance, anticipate challenges, and find innovative solutions for business issuesThis role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any part of Mexico, but preferably in Mexico City, as we would encourage attendance for occasional in-office events.In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.Who you areBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead technical individual contributor role.Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture and administration, including a in-depth understanding of core platform capabilities and limitations.Experience with other ServiceNow modules like ITSM, HRSD, Integration Hub, Virtual/AI Agents, etc.Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, ServiceNow Script Includes, and Business Rules.Extensive experience with UI Policies, UI Actions, ACLs, and Flow Designer.Proven hands-on experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, including designing and implementing complex integrations.Demonstrable experience with ServiceNow ATF (Automated Test Framework) for comprehensive test automation.Solid understanding of ITIL processes (e.g., Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request Management) and their practical application within ServiceNow.Proficiency in working within an Agile/Scrum development environment.Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Scoped Applications, including their design, development, and deployment.Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics and Reporting for data-driven insights and optimization.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (written and verbal).Ability to work independently as an IC leader, manage multiple priorities, and mentor others effectively.A strong passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of ServiceNow advancements.Familiar with Agile Scrum processes and associated ceremoniesNice To Have:Familiarity with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) as they relate to ServiceNow development.Familiarity with front-end technologies like AngularJS or React within ServiceNow portals.Experience with scripting languages beyond JavaScript relevant to ServiceNow (e.g., PowerShell for integrations)Expertise in enterprise architecture, modern design patterns, system scalability, and API (REST, GraphQL) designFamiliarity with DevOps principles and best practicesServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) and/or Certified System Administrator (CSA) certifications are highly preferred.Get to know usis reimagining real estate to make it easier to unlock life’s next chapter.As the most-visited real estate website in the United States, Zillow® and its affiliates help movers find and win their home through digital solutions, first class partners, and easier buying, selling, financing and renting experiences.
