- Growing the profitable Mexican Retail engineering portfolio while providing high-quality underwriting services and solutions to clients.
- Positioning Swiss Re Corporate Solutions as a leader in the Mexican market through strategic marketing activities, client underwriting training, risk surveys, and more.
- Underwriting Construction and Engineering deals, focusing on the Mexican market. This includes technical assessments, wording reviews, and negotiations with clients and brokers for products such as CAR/EAR, CECR, and others.
- Ensuring adherence to requirements imposed by the Mexican Insurance Regulator for E&C and Renewable Energy Business.
- Maintaining underwriting documentation, ensuring good data quality in the underwriting system, and following up on post-bound activities such as premium payments, claim data, and filing.
- Growing the renewable energy book in Mexico, with a focus on operational wind farms, solar PV plants, and BESS.
- Developing talent within the Mexican E&C community by offering coaching support and career advice.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of strong underwriting experience with a customer-focused mindset.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to respond promptly, handling short deadlines and large workloads.
- Excellent organizational skills for maintaining documents, processes, and records.
- Strong analytical abilities to read and understand documents related to E&C projects, such as Gantt Charts, Project Descriptions, and Breakdown of Values.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal interaction abilities.
- Proficiency in identifying project risk exposures and defining the Most Probable Loss (MPL).
- Experience in writing and reviewing survey reports detailing main exposures and providing recommendations for project risk management.
- Capability to define proper coverage for projects through the most suitable policy wording.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and insurance market environment and trends in Latin America, including (re)insurers, brokers, and clients.
- Expertise in risk selection and underwriting practice, including risk management, industry assessment, and rating methodologies.
