- Responsible for materials received at the plant according to supplier and commodity assignments.
- Serve as the first point of contact when there is a specific request or situation related to price increases and analyze the nature of the issue.
- Manage supplier-requested changes (eSCR) with the plant team and ensure their approval, rejection, and communication to the suppliers.
- Manage cost and design changes during the production phase resulting from an eSCR.
- Lead capacity analysis with suppliers and the necessary actions resulting from this analysis during both the production and project phases (Sourcing and Run at Rate, prior to production).
- Align commercially with strategic suppliers that help create value for the company through price competitiveness and long-term cost reduction commitments.
- Maintain updated prices in the ERP system.
- Negotiate/achieve raw material price improvements through a local supplier development program or supplier substitution, in coordination with the Purchasing Manager and the global purchasing group.
- Manage commodities based on global market conditions with periodic adjustments as applicable.
- Ensure the supplier base complies with BorgWarner’s terms and conditions.
- Creation, review, and approval of commercial contracts (NDA/AL/GT&C/VMI/Schedule Agreement/AIF) with direct suppliers.
- Creation, execution, and monitoring of cost reduction projects according to the annual budget.
- Participate in and obtain approval from the Sourcing Board for business award proposals.
- Manage commercial aspects derived from quality or delivery issues.
- Lead cost-saving projects involving changes in packaging specifications with suppliers.
- Commercially align strategic suppliers that help create value for the company through competitiveness and long-term commitment.
- Comparative analysis of supplier quotations.
- Investment project analysis.
- Follow up on the APQP process from Sourcing Nomination to Production and receipt of material at the plant, together with the Commodity Manager.
- Actively and enthusiastically participate in DE&I and plant engagement activities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a similar position.
- Technical knowledge required: Quality systems, supplier development, and APQP process, cost analysis; knowledge of project management and cost savings/productivity concepts is desirable.
- Other requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and ERP systems.
