Senior AccountantDepartment: FinanceEmployment Type: Fixed Term ContractLocation: Mexico CityDescriptionCubico in Mexico is looking for a Senior Accountant for Development Entities. The role will require the candidate to oversee all accounting and tax activities, including the implementation of internal controls over accounting and financial procedures for the different development companies in Mexico, and be in charge of the team that will assist in the fulfilment of activities. Cubico's portfolio in Mexico is comprised of 600 MWs of wind and solar projects under operation, 825 MW of early-development projects to the Mexican portfolio, and a service company in charge of all employees in Mexico and related activities. The role will report to the Finance Director in Mexico and Group Financial Controller. This role will be employed for a fixed term contract of up to one year, with the potential to be made permanent.Key ResponsibilitiesKey Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Generation of financial, tax and accounting information, observing the accounting standards guiding and of the journal entries classification;
Coordinate and supervise processes for the monthly and yearly accounting closing resulting in the preparation of individual and consolidated financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, cash flows
Preparation of monthly and annual tax filings related to all entities
Liaise with advisors and head office to comply with Transfer Pricing
Liaise with advisors on VAT claims for the projects
Monitor and control accounts receivables and payables
Oversee, modify, and review document recordkeeping and accounting systems in order to provide procedure improvements
Approve monthly banking reconciliations
EBITDA and OpEx variation analysis
Budget management

Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseThe successful candidate will have:

BA in Accounting
Previous experience in the position, at least 3 to 4 years
Previous experience and knowledge in the energy industry
Fluent in English and Spanish
Strong communications skills
Experience with ERPs preferably Microsoft Dynamics
Organized, collaborative, proactive, ethical, diligent and with a high sense of responsibility and compliance with objectives
