- Sourcing and evaluating suppliers to establish a reliable supply base.
- Quoting and negotiating price and commercial purchasing terms including delivery, quality, service and payment terms.
- Preparation, processing, maintenance and issuing of purchase orders, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Revision of open purchase orders, follow up on quantity, price and delivery acknowledgments from suppliers.
- Continuous communication with vendors, logistics and customs departments to ensure that materials are shipped and received on the specified dates identifying and resolving any potential delay.
- Resolution of discrepancies, unclear shipping documents, invoices, or any document needed in the procurement, shipping, importation, invoicing process to ensure prompt availability of material and timely payments to vendors.
- Continuous work with the team members of the indirect material warehouse monitoring inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstock inventory.
- Collaboration with various departments among the organization to understand their purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Proposal, promotion and implementation of supply strategies that include cost reduction plans and supply base optimization participating in assigned company teams and or site projects including bidding the indirect products and services.
- Safety policy compliance reporting immediately any situation of risk and active participation in actions to improve safety in his/her area of control.
- Assurance understanding and compliance of procurement process and its relation to the Quality System.
- Promotion and implementation of improvement proposals documenting them in the system that the company implemented for this purpose called Business Improvement Proposals System (Which by its acronym in English is identified as BIP). Improvements that are not documented in the BIP system, will also be an integral part of their work.
- 5 year or more as a buyer of indirect products and services preferably in metal mechanical industries.
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering
- English 90% proficiency level.
