We are seeking a Lead Java Developer to join and guide our cross-functional SCRUM team at a leading Wealth Management firm operating under the Broker-Dealer model. As a vital leader and technical expert, you will drive the design and development of secure backend services, oversee API design and full-stack application development, lead DevOps initiatives, and mentor team members while contributing at an advanced level to the support and enhancement of Java applications.ResponsibilitiesLead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of high-quality Java codebasesDesign and oversee the build of backend microservices and REST APIsEnsure robust application functionality by advocating for and implementing comprehensive unit testing practicesConduct and coordinate thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to best practicesDefine and promote standards for CI, unit testing, and code reviews across the teamActively participate in and facilitate SCRUM ceremonies, fostering agile collaborationTake ownership of estimating and planning development tasks at both high-level and detailed stagesMentor and coach team members, fostering technical excellence and team growthCollaborate with Offshore teams, ensuring alignment, knowledge sharing, and productivityDrive the creation and maintenance of comprehensive application documentation, including architectural overviews and design artifactsAlign with business stakeholders to understand requirements and drive technical solutions that meet business goalsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree highly preferred5+ years of professional development experience working with Java applicationsAt least 1 year of relevant leadership experienceDeep expertise in Java development with advanced command of Spring Framework and Spring BootProven experience in designing and implementing APIs and microservices architectureExpertise in backend service development with proficiency in working within cloud-native environmentsAdvanced familiarity with technologies like Apache Kafka and Azure KubernetesHands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and integrating Kubernetes workflowsAbility to work effectively during CST business hours and lead cross-location collaboration initiativesDemonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence and elevate team performanceExcellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)Nice to haveExperience in architecting and implementing Single Page ApplicationsIn-depth knowledge of secure backend services and advanced REST API development practicesA strong understanding of and/or hands-on exposure to financial services applications, particularly in wealth managementProficiency with monitoring and analysis tools like Splunk and DynatraceExperience in ReactJS development to effectively collaborate with front-end developers and influence full-stack application architectureWe offer/Benefits
