Senior Medical Billing Coder Remote Position

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Medical Billing Coder to join our healthcare operations team. This position requires advanced knowledge in coding and billing, as well as the ability to review complex cases and mentor junior coders. The ideal candidate must have 35 years of experience in ambulatory or hospital coding and be proficient with coding systems and insurance guidelines.Key Responsibilities
Accurately assign ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to medical diagnoses and procedures.
Perform complex coding audits and quality assurance checks.
Review provider documentation to ensure coding compliance and completeness.
Handle coding for advanced andor specialty services e.g., surgery, ER, inpatient.
Work closely with billing, compliance, and clinical teams to resolve coding issues.
Provide guidance and support to junior coders and contribute to training efforts.
Stay uptodate on changes in coding regulations and payer policies.
Monitor coding productivity and accuracy in accordance with internal standards.Qualifications
Required
35 years of handson experience in medical billing and coding ambulatory or hospital setting.
Certified Professional Coder CPC, CCS, COC, CIC or equivalent.
Deep understanding of ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Proficiency in EHREMR platforms and medical billing software.
Experience with insurance billing, claim submission, denials, and appeals.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Preferred
Experience handling specialty coding e.g., orthopedics, cardiology, inpatient services.
Prior experience in a senior or lead role is an advantage.
Knowledge of U.S. healthcare regulatory standards and payer policies.Work Schedule
