Job Description:Mexico’s Payroll Manager will lead a team of Payroll Analyst & Execution Payroll supporting a cross
segment, cross functional client base. Responsibilities include:
  • Relationship management (i.e. AR/P&O BP’s, ICTC, Tax vendors)
  • To ensure that salaries, social security contributions, and payroll taxes are paid in a timely manner in Mexico.
  • To advise several businesses regarding changes in legislation and the implications for each organization
  • Resolution of complex Payroll issues, identifying and managing high risk situations.
  • Building Payroll capability and leveraging data to inform people strategies.
The role is responsible for proactively driving continuous improvement in Payroll that increases
effectiveness while creating an environment of engagement, collaboration, Governance and trust
aligned with our Five Principles and ICE controls. It ensures the development of S&F/Payroll
functional skills to build a robust talent pipeline.This role will be an active player in the LATAM Payroll team. It will be line manager for Pre payroll &
Execution team that are responsible for running the pre-payroll, monthly payroll, terminations, the
payment of social security contributions and the closed period accounting of Payroll. Once they
complete their tasks, the Manager performs the necessary checks to authorize payments and check
the closed period Payroll accounting. This position will have responsibility for a payroll operations of
22K per period for nearly 6,000 associates.What are we looking for?Education and Professional Skills.
  • University degree or equivalent experience to perform the position: Certified Public
  • Accountant, Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance
  • Required Language: English
  • Required Language Level: Intermediate
Knowledge/Skills.
  • Minimum five years of experience working in Payroll Operations.
  • Proficiency in payroll, Accounting & T&A software.
  • Knowledge of the elements involved in payroll.
  • Technical knowledge to determine taxes and social security contributions
  • Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate
  • effectively with a wide range of individuals across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to rapidly mobilize and manage internal and external resources to mitigate risks to the
  • Mars business.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work effectively while managing competing
  • projects and/or demanding clients
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information

Travel Requirements
  • Around 10% of the time will be spent traveling
What will be your key responsibilities?Operational Excellence
  • Stay up to date on labor, social security, and tax changes in Mexico.
  • Advise the various departments on the implications of labor, social security, and tax changes so they can make decisions.
  • Collaborate with the various businesses on possible termination scenarios
  • Control monthly payroll and terminations.
  • Control social security and tax payments (ISR, ISN, INFONAVIT, FONACOT, Social security)
  • Attend to labor, tax and social security Audits.
  • Ensure that all tasks in the area are carried out in accordance with ICE (Internal Control Excellence)
  • Certify the accounting accounts and validate the closing of the period and annual
  • Develops and maintains procedures to ensure consistent use and maintenance of the systems.
  • Makes recommendations on structure and system changes to improve processes and data integrity.
Relationship Management
  • Build sustainable relationships through active stakeholder management with Line Managers,
  • P&O Business Partners, Legal, AR, ICTC & S&F.
  • Represent Payroll Agenda in Local Works S&F/External- Internal Audits, Global Mobility,
  • Global benefit Meetings.
  • Manage the “day to day” interaction with the site leadership.
Capability & Insights
  • Deliver and ensure compliance to Payroll capability building programs.
  • Coach and advise line managers, associates and P&O partners in matters related to Payroll.
  • Create recommendations for site leadership teams leveraging Payroll data & analytics.
  • Leverage best practices, trends and system/process developments to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Lead a team of Payroll Coordinatiors & Analyst. Responsible for team engagement, performance evaluation and associate development.
