Resumen: The Buyer – MRP is responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and indirect supplies to support production schedules in a maquiladora environment. This role ensures material availability through efficient use of the MRP system, vendor management, and alignment with company quality, cost, and delivery standards. Responsabilidades:Key ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system to generate purchase orders in line with production demand.Ensure the on-time procurement of materials and components to prevent line stoppages and production delays.Manage vendor relationships, including communication, follow-up, and negotiation of lead times, pricing, and delivery schedules.Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues related to quality, delays, or non-conformances.Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Logistics teams to resolve material shortages or discrepancies.Maintain accurate purchasing records and update ERP/MRP data as needed.Coordinate with Customs/Logistics to ensure compliance with maquiladora import/export regulations.Support cost-reduction initiatives, vendor development, and continuous improvement activities.Prepare purchasing reports, KPIs, and analysis for management review.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, International Trade, or related field.2–4 years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).Familiarity with maquiladora processes and import/export regulations.Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Bilingual: English and Spanish (intermediate to advanced level).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Desired CompetenciesAbility to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Results-oriented and detail-driven.Team player with strong collaboration skills.Continuous improvement mindset.
