- BA/BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field of discipline or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of directly applicable planning and buying or supply chain experience.
- Solid understanding of the Manufacturing Processes and best practices.
- APICS / ASCM certification is a plus, i.e., C.P.M., CPIM, CPSM, CSCP.
- Lean management basic tools and applications.
- Data Analysis Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Power BI to analyze data from various sources and turn insights into clear, actionable steps. Familiarity with tools like macros, VBA, or Power Query is a big plus.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP systems to keep operations and reporting smooth and efficient.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to tackle forecasting and scheduling challenges by thinking logically and making smart decisions, pulling in insights from teams like Production and Sales when needed.
- Supplier Relationships and Growth: Skilled at building and maintaining great relationships with suppliers while expanding our supply network. You’ll help manage risks and explore backup sourcing options to keep things running smoothly.
- Process Improvement: A knack for spotting ways to make current processes better and creating new ones, with a focus on keeping things efficient, reducing waste, and cutting costs. You’ll take part in projects to streamline materials and prevent shortages using clear problem-solving methods.
- Core Buyer Tasks: On top of placing purchase orders accurately and on time, you’ll confirm deliveries, expedite materials when necessary, and track delivery performance for both suppliers and customers. You’ll also create reports to avoid shortages, align schedules between suppliers and our operations, manage Kanban and spike orders (adjusting as demand shifts), and sort out any invoice issues with Accounts Payable.
- Communication and Teamwork: Clear and effective communication to work well with both internal teams and external suppliers, paired with strong problem-solving skills to find creative ways to save costs and improve the supply chain.
- Organization and Growth Potential: Highly organized, able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working independently. This role starts as an individual contributor but has room to grow into a leadership position as our team expands.
- Additional Duties: You’ll handle purchasing for MRO and production supplies, collaborate with internal teams to prioritize production schedules, and contribute to projects that reduce inventory and save costs.
- Must be fully bilingual (Spanish – English): have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
