  • Coordinate and monitor maritime shipments from origin to final delivery, ensuring adherence to schedules and efficient handling.
  • Supervise the clearance of goods at national ports, managing all necessary procedures for timely and compliant release.
  • Organise and oversee terrestrial deliveries to clients' warehouses, ensuring coordination with transport providers for seamless operations.
  • Manage essential shipping documentation, including Bill of Lading (BL), shipping instructions, commercial invoices, and packing lists, maintaining accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain continuous communication with origin agents, shipping lines, port terminals, and transport companies to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve issues proactively.
  • Request and validate maritime and land freight rates, obtaining quotations for services as needed to optimise cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Assess availability and suitability of transport units such as trucks and platforms to meet logistical demands effectively.
Additional Duties:
  • Collaborate closely with customs agents and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with import regulations and expedite cargo release processes.
  • Monitor and report on shipment status and operational metrics, providing insights to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges by implementing best practices and innovative logistics solutions.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and environmental compliance during all stages of the transport process.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in logistics or supply chain operations, particularly in maritime import processes.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and freight forwarding procedures.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners, including international agents and carriers.
  • Proficient in evaluating freight rates and negotiating with service providers to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with transportation units and their operational conditions to plan effective land transport logistics.
  • Commitment to operational excellence, customer service, and continuous learning.
