Job Title: Senior Staff AccountantLocation: Remote, Mexico | Department: Finance & Accounting | Reports To: Corporate ControllerAbout Our ClientOur client is a leading manufacturer operating under the maquiladora (IMMEX) program, with strong ties to the U.S. market. Leveraging a bi-national structure to deliver high-quality products with efficiency and flexibility, they are committed to operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to maintain accurate financial records in compliance with Mexican GAAP and IMMEX program requirements. This role plays a key part in monthly closings, tax filings, audits, inventory controls, and intercompany reconciliations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of maquiladora regulations, cost accounting in a manufacturing setting, and cross-border financial operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for the monthly financial close.Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, AR/AP, inventory, fixed assets, and payroll liabilities.Support cost accounting functions, including bill of materials (BOM), standard costing, variances, and inventory adjustments.Prepare monthly financial statements under Mexican GAAP.Ensure compliance with SAT regulations and timely filing of all required tax and government reports (IVA, DIOT, ISR, IMSS, INFONAVIT, etc.).Assist with annual audits (both internal and external), SAT reviews, and inventory counts.Track and report maquiladora-related activities (annexes, pedimentos, transfers, virtual imports/exports).Partner with operations to monitor inventory valuation, WIP, and scrap accounting.Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules in accordance with local and U.S. tax guidelines.Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to management.QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a maquiladora manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of Mexican tax laws, SAT regulations, and IMMEX program compliance.Experience with cost accounting and inventory controls in a manufacturing setting.Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with large datasets and pivot tables.Bilingual: Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and time management skills.Preferred QualificationsCPA or equivalent certification.Experience supporting transfer pricing analysis and intercompany markup reconciliation.Familiarity with shelter operations, VAT certification, and virtual inventory transactions.What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.Paid time off and holidays (in accordance with Mexican law).A collaborative, cross-border team environment.The opportunity to play a key role in a growing international company.
